Advanced Dashboard Techniques - Social Filters

Social Account Filters:

  1. Reports for Social Media Management and Social Ads can be created from scratch or using any of the existing Social templates​
  1. The named for templates Social already contain filters for paid vs organic traffic and for Facebook vs Instagram traffic.​
  1. Filters can be removed to get an overall picture of the account regardless Social network.​
  1. Additional filters can also be added to show performance of the account at the campaign level.​
Note that the “Social Paid Campaigns” section of all Social Media dashboards and each widget of all Social Ads dashboards must have Campaign Name filters set.​

To Access The Filter Settings:

  1. Open the dashboard in “Edit View”​
  1. Mouse over the widget for which you want to change settings​
  1. Click the ”Edit Widget” button (gear)​
  1. On the panel that opens on the right select Basic Settings​
  1. Scroll down to the Filters section at the bottom​

Social Filters (Ads):

  1. The main filter that needs to be set for Social Ads dashboards is the “CAMPAIGN NAME CONTAINS” filter​.
  1. It also needs to be set for the “SOCIAL PAID AD CAMPAIGNS” section of Social Management dashboards​.
  1. The criteria should be the name of the company or a part of the company name.​
  1. If nothing shows, remove the filter altogether and see what campaigns are listed under the “SOCIAL PAID AD CAMPAIGNS” section. ​
  1. Then add the appropriate criteria to the CAMPAIGN NAME filter and save again.​
  1. Add Ad Set or Ad Name filters if necessary.

Social Filters (Management):

  1. Besides the campaign name filter for the ads section of Social Media Management dashboards, the platform filter may also need to be said if creating a dashboard from scratch.​
  1. Platform filter allows for the splitting of performance data between Facebook, Facebook audience network, Messenger, and Instagram.​
  1. The already created templates will group together Facebook, Messenger, and the Audience Network to show Facebook performance data.​
  1. For Instagram only data the Platform filter should be set to Instagram
